dil-ae-nadan

“dil-ae-nadan tuze hua kya hai …

akhir is dard ki dava kya hai …”

Once, I had a major crush on a muslim girl. And I dedicated this song from Jagjit's “Galib” to her :). it went like this. I used to play this song. This song has typical tenor-nosal female-muslim voice, gives a feeling of “tavayaf's” kotha.

I used to visualize that I am sitting on a “gaddi”, leaning back on a pillow, a glass in my right hand, and wearing “gajra” on the other; a bottle of rum in front of me, and she is performing this song for me.

She is properly dressed, in glossy green. Wearing a lot of jewelry, nose-ring without a miss and Ghungaru in her legs. The fair girl with red lips and red tongue used to look enchanting in dim yellow light. I am quite legless at the moment and now the music plays …

“ham hai mushtaq aur wo bejaa …

ya elahi ye majara kyaa hai …”

and now she looks me in eyes with her watery, crystal eye wearing surma, covering half the face with her right hand. Her delicate pink fingers colored with dark red alta are arousing!

Well she is not a good dancer!! She repeats her dance steps and the song ends …

“Jaan tumpe nisaar karta hoon

mei nahi jaanta dua hya hai”

whatever your love was true ! We were once in camp area and you were incessantly talking about her and we went to some pizza house (think 'dominoes') and there she was standing and waiting for you :D
